The Elms

The elms site was originally a barren turfed landscape with a few elm trees planted throughout.

The client’s brief was to create a landscape with seating areas around the existing elm trees. This was created by encasing each elm tree with a seating area. 

Garden areas were created with lush plantings between each seating pod to separate the seating areas for groups of students. 

The elms are not only a seating area for students to enjoy their lunch breaks but a multi-use area. The space is used for musical performances, group gatherings, outdoor classroom and a place to pray.
